So don’t ask me how this happened but I’ll just tell the short version. In 2003 I was competing in Team Universe Fitness Championships at the Tribeca in NY. Little did I know that I was 13 weeks pregnant at the time and in the best shape of my life. I placed 5th at that fitness competition and while training for Nationals, which would be held 2 months later, I found out I was pregnant with twins! Yea, we were shocked too. I worked out during my pregnancy and ate organic foods. I gained 48 lbs which is 24 lbs per baby (good, by the way!) and topped out at 174. Fast forward 9 months, gave birth to healthy boy/girl twins. And yes, I was really 3 months pregnant in this photo.
I lost the 48 lbs I gained within 9 months and looked great accept for my DD boobs and my soft belly. I’ve been eating natural/organic and unprocessed foods for over 5 years now, however, I have not been able to maintain a consistent healthy weight nor my physique after giving birth. I hit rock bottom when my husband deployed to Kuwait this past year in June 2007. I gained 30 lbs in 5 months and weighed my heaviest at 158 lbs (not including my pregnancy weight, of course). I was ashamed, I felt unhealthy, I hated the way I looked and I knew I had to do something about it. Trust me, I eat clean, I just stopped exercising and wouldn’t even run around with my kids at the playground. I don’t know if it was stress from my husband’s deployment or what but I knew I had to do something. So on January 14th 2008, I started P90X by Tony Horton (Beach Body).
Let’s just say, I see results already! So now I’m working 12 weeks to do my best at getting back to my pre-pregnancy physique. I’m going to document week by week progress and results. So far, I love P90X.
Main Goal: Lose the 30 lbs I gained before my husband returns home in July 2008!
Goal: Get the physique to wear a 2 piece bathing suit again.
Goal: Max 15 pull-ups
Goal: Get back into a size 2/4
